Action Network Worldwide provides a lightweight verification system that validates organizational identity, registration status, and operational capacity through document review by platform administrators. Verified organizations receive a public trust badge, making them discoverable to funders and partners who filter for verified entities. The system accommodates both formally registered nonprofits and informal community groups, recognizing that legal registration status is not the only indicator of legitimacy.
Key Capabilities
Document-Based Verification
Organizations submit registration documents, governance records, and operational proof for administrator review. The system supports both registered entities (NGO certificates, tax IDs) and informal groups (community letters, project reports).
Public Trust Badge
Verified organizations display a verification badge on their profile and public page. The badge shows verification date and status, providing instant credibility to potential funders and partners.
Verification Lifecycle
Organizations progress through unverified, pending, verified, suspended, or revoked states. Administrators can suspend verification for compliance issues or revoke it for policy violations, maintaining ecosystem integrity.
Filterable Discovery
Funders and partners filter searches and browse views to show only verified organizations. Verification status appears in search results, opportunity responses, and workspace member lists.
How It Works
Request Verification
Organization submits verification request with supporting documents. The platform accepts registration certificates, governance documents, proof of past projects, or community endorsements depending on organizational type.
Administrator Review
Platform administrators review submitted documents against verification criteria. Review includes identity validation, registration status check (where applicable), and operational capacity assessment.
Verification Decision
Administrator approves, requests additional documentation, or rejects the application. Approved organizations receive verified status immediately. Rejected applications include feedback on what additional proof is needed.
Public Display
Verified badge appears on organization profile, public page, and all platform interactions. Verification date is publicly visible. Organizations can reference their verified status in external communications and grant applications.
