The challenge & our answer

The Problem

Small and medium-sized organizations struggle to maintain a credible online presence while coordinating teams across borders. Creating standalone websites is expensive and time-consuming, keeping accurate team rosters is manual work, and presenting a professional face to funders requires constant effort. Most organizations end up scattered across multiple platforms with no single source of truth.

The Solution

Action Network Worldwide provides organizations with a unified identity layer that grows with your work. Your profile becomes a living presence that reflects real activity — team changes, project milestones, published outputs — without manual website maintenance. Multi-org team coordination is built-in, verification signals credibility to funders, and your public page updates automatically as you collaborate.

Key Capabilities

Structured Organization Profiles

Complete profiles with mission, focus areas, team roster, location, and verification status. Profiles feed matching algorithms and discovery across the platform.

Team & Role Management

Invite members, assign roles (admin, editor, member, viewer), and track who has access to what. Role-based permissions ensure secure team coordination.

Verification & Trust Signals

Submit documents for verification to display a verified badge on your profile. Verification status is visible to funders, partners, and the network.

Organization Types & Structures

Support for independent organizations, umbrella networks that host smaller groups, and hosted organizations under umbrellas. Join requests and hosting relationships are managed through the platform.

Public Organization Pages

Auto-generated public pages with customizable sections (about, impact, projects, team, partners). Pages reflect live platform activity — no separate website to maintain.

Cross-Organization Collaboration

Organizations participate in workspaces alongside other organizations regardless of type or structure. Collaboration is entity-to-entity, not hierarchy-dependent.

Organization Invitations

Email-based invitations with 28-day expiry and acceptance flow. Invite codes for broader recruitment. Join requests for umbrella membership.

Privacy & Access Control

Two-tier permissions (platform-level and org-level). Soft-delete architecture ensures data can be purged. Profile visibility controls respect GDPR data minimization.

How It Works

1

Create Organization Profile

Register your organization with name, type, size, country, and focus areas. Upload logo and provide mission statement. Choose between independent, umbrella, or hosted structure.

2

Build Your Team

Invite members via email or shareable invite code. Assign roles based on responsibilities. Manage permissions to control who can post opportunities, edit profiles, or manage settings.

3

Complete Verification

Submit registration documents, proof of mission, and organizational evidence. Verification review by platform administrators. Receive verified badge visible across the platform.

4

Publish & Collaborate

Your profile becomes discoverable in matching and search. Post opportunities, join workspaces with other organizations, and track connections. Public page updates automatically as you work.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to be a registered nonprofit to create an organization profile?

No. Both formally registered entities (NGOs, foundations, cooperatives) and informal community groups can have organization profiles. The platform recognizes that legal registration is not the only indicator of legitimate impact.

Can my organization have multiple admins?

Yes. Each organization can have multiple members with admin, editor, member, or viewer roles. Roles control who can edit the profile, invite members, post opportunities, and manage workspaces on the organization's behalf.

What does the public organization page show?

A summary of your mission and focus areas, verification status, member count, recent activity, posted opportunities, public projects, and any workspaces you have published. You control which sections are visible.

Is my organization's data portable?

Yes. Data export is built in and GDPR-compliant — you can take your organization's content with you. The platform does not lock your information behind proprietary formats.

Can an organization join a federation or umbrella network?

Yes. Organizations can join one or more umbrella networks. The umbrella sees aggregate signals (member capacity, activity, opportunities) without overriding individual organization autonomy.
